WFOT Congress 2010
In May 2010, Paula McCreedy and Daniela Wachholtz will be
traveling to Chile to attend the 15th World Congress of the
World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). They
will be participating in the poster program by presenting
Community Participation; A Summer Camp for Children
with Sensory Disorders. They will present a summer camp
program that has been piloted at SPOTS for over 5 years.
In this presentation they describe the blending of naturalistic
and clinic settings for children with hidden disabilities to
access their potential in community participation.
Research
Paula McCreedy and Debbie Yom, with the expert
guidance of Janet Falk-Kessler, Ed.D., OTR, FAOTA and
Christine Chen, Sc.D., OTR, FAOTA are collaborating with
Columbia University's Occupational Therapy Masters Degree
Students in original research to gauge goal achievement and
client satisfaction with the SPOTS Summer Camp Program.
