  • SPOTS Summer Camp is designed for children ages 4.0–6.5 who benefit from support managing behaviors and responses to sensory experiences. Camp is a great fit for children who are working on:

    • Sensory regulation and coping strategies

    • Social confidence and peer interaction

    • Fine motor, visual motor, and gross motor development

    • Following routines, transitions, and group participation

  • Throughout the day, we support campers in finding the social confidence to connect with peers playfully and joyfully. Campers have ample opportunity to practice
self-regulation strategies, make decisions, and build fundamental skills for successful learning. SPOTS Summer Camp encourages a supportive community where children work together to explore new challenges, celebrate wins, and sometimes even have an opportunity to mentor each other!

In addition to the SPOTS staff OTs who run the camp, we recruit prospective OT
students, as well as “Level 2 Fieldwork” students in occupational therapy programs, as additional support. Every day, each camper is paired with an adult "buddy" to assist them as much or as little as needed. A typical day includes:

    • Circle time + movement

    • Sensory-motor activities

    • Snack and lunch with social skill-building

    • Outdoor time and neighborhood outings

    • Quiet time / story time

    • Creative projects (art + learning without tears)

    • Wrap-up and getting ready for pick-up

  • Each week of SPOTS Camp is centered around a different theme, such as sports, animals, artists, community workers, science, and more. Our activities are structured to teach each camper about the weekly theme. Each day is a mix of physical/gross motor activities, social games, and fine motor tasks. We also go outside daily and have access to local parks.

We plan daily and weekly field trips around the neighborhood that relate to our camp themes, such as the Seaglass Carousel, the Transit Museum, the Rose Space Center, the Intrepid Museum, the Water Lab, Puppet Works, and more. We hire outside specialties to further enrich the camp experience including capoeira and music.

Mini Camp

We offer camps during major school breaks in February, March, and April to current SPOTS families. Similar to our summer camp, these mini camps focus on helping children connect with peers and participate in creative, collaborative activities. Our Mini Camp focuses on building your child’s social skill development, organizational skills, and collaborative play.
