Step 2

Understanding Your Child’s Needs

Occupational therapy services at SPOTS begin with an evaluation. This allows us to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and daily experiences.

In accordance with New York State law, a referral (RX) from a physician or nurse practitioner is required for private occupational therapy intervention.

Step 3

Thoughtful Scheduling

Once an evaluation is complete, scheduling takes place. This process allows us to schedule  your child with a therapist and provide an intervention approach that best supports their needs, goals, and learning style.

Step 4

Starting Services at SPOTS

Therapy at SPOTS is offered year-round and may take place individually, in a dyad or in small groups, depending on your child’s goals and recommendations. Services are available from September through June, with summer sessions offered July through August. During school holiday breaks, SPOTS therapists offer mini-camps to address such skill-building as executive functioning and social skills
