Services that support growth at every stage

Our Services

Our core occupational therapy services are designed to support children’s development across home, school, and community settings. Each service is tailored to your child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.

  • A comprehensive evaluation to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and functional needs. Our assessments include standardized testing, clinical observations, and parent consultation to determine the most supportive therapy plan.

  • Individual therapeutic supports are designed to increase development of self-regulatory capacity and skill-building, such as gross motor skills, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, pre-writing and writing skills. Therapeutic supports provided in group settings are structured to increase social comfort and competency, including learning strategies to enter and exit informal play, engage in social problem solving, and making friends.

  • Therapy focused on helping children understand, organize, and respond to sensory input in ways that feel comfortable and manageable. We support improved emotional regulation, increased body awareness, transitions capacities, and flexibility and adjustment to everyday routines.

  • Skill-building to strengthen hand function, coordination, pencil grasp, dexterity, and writing readiness. Therapy supports participation in classroom tasks, daily activities, and confidence in learning environments.

  • Support for everyday activities like dressing, toileting, grooming, organizing belongings, and managing routines. Therapy focuses on building confidence and independence at home, school, and in the community.

  • Therapeutic strategies to help children succeed in academic environments. We support visual-motor integration, facilitate improved focus and capacity to sustain attention, increase independence in self-regulation for improved classroom participation, gain executive functioning, and sustain engagement in learning-related motor skills.

Occupational Therapy Assessments

  • An occupational therapy evaluation helps us understand how your child functions in their daily activities and environments. Using a combination of standardized tools, clinical observations, and collaborative input, we develop an individualized plan based on your child’s specific needs.

At SPOTS, we offer Occupational and Physical therapy evaluations. An evaluation provides us with the details and context essential to understanding which specific supports can be most helpful to your child. Based on each evaluation, we create an individualized program of support. We conduct evaluations on site in our sensory gym, and we can also provide in-school screenings and consultations.
