Catherine Brophy

OTR/L

Catherine is a full-time member of the SPOTS team. She received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from D’Youville University and her Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience with aminor in Anthropology from Binghamton University.

Catherine has specialized education and experience in Learning without Tears, Zones of Regulation, the Interoception Curriculum, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), which she creatively integrates into her therapeutic support of children. Catherine has expertise in working with pediatric clients across a range of diagnoses and developmental levels in both outpatient and school-based settings.

She is passionate about creating engaging, play-based interventions that support each child’s developmental and functional goals. At SPOTS, Catherine is the leader of professional student education as the clinical fieldwork coordinator. Occupational therapy students complete their final degree requirements by successfully completing fieldwork.

Catherine is the co-director of our SPOTS Summer Camp. The camp offers one-on-one support to children to focus on their regulatory, interests and social development. Outside of SPOTS, she provides occupational therapy to adults at a long-term care and sub-acute rehabilitation facility.

In her free time Catherine enjoys having dinner with friends and family, biking, kayaking, and exploring the city with her dog.
