Julia Ganbarg

OTR/L

Julia is a full-time member of the SPOTS family. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science (2022) and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (2023) from Ithaca College.

Julia has pursued continued education and advanced knowledge and certification in several areas, including the Learning Without Tears curriculum, executive functioning and cognitive shifting, and approaching anxiety through a holistic, child-centered lens. She is pursuing her certification in DIR-Floortime.

Julia is passionate about providing a child-centered, neurodiversity-affirming approach in every session. She believes deeply in the power of play and evidence-based practices to foster meaningful, lasting progress toward family-centered goals.

In addition to her support of individual clients at SPOTS, Julia also provides OT support to children ages 3–5 at a preschool on the Lower East Side, and to K–8 students at a private school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

Julia leads an Executive Functioning and Social Skills Group at SPOTS: a cooking-based program for children ages 6–10. Through shared recipe creation and mealtime connection, the group will build skills in planning, flexibility, problem-solving and will joyfully “break bread” together. She provides small group sessions throughout the year.

In her free time, Julia loves to travel, cook, take long walks, and explore different neighborhoods across the city.
