Michele Amoroso

OTR/L

Michele has been a member of the SPOTS team since 2003. She received a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from the University of Delaware.

She has advanced expertise in sensory processing and self-regulation, Learning Without Tears, Astronaut Training, Brain Gym, The Alert Program, the Zones of Regulation, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Executive Functioning, neurodevelopmental movement and Reflex Integration, Rhythmic Movement, Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), Therapeutic Listening, Polyvagal theory, and the Safe and Sound Protocol.

She assists parents make critical decisions about the evaluation process and building a support network. She expertly provides occupational therapy support for children of all ages in a variety of public, private, and charter school settings, including preschools, elementary and middle schools. She provided the Quad Preparatory School leadership and supervisor for their occupational therapy team.

As part of SPOTS community outreach, Michele provides consultation services and expertise in team development to several preschools. She mentors fieldwork students completing their degree requirement through SPOTS and advises others interested in the field. She continually supports teachers who work with children by providing educational strategies and seminars to deepen their understanding of learning and regularly differences.

She provides dedicated seminars to plan responsive and dynamic learning environments. Michele raised 2 daughters and a dog in Brooklyn, and currently enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and exploring the Catskills and beyond.
